Using: kitchen and oven
Set the oven to 180°C and choose a medium baking dish.
Peel, core and cut the apples into bite-sized pieces. Put apples in the dish with a small splash of water. Toss with half the sugar and the cinnamon.
Cut cold butter into small cubes. Rub butter into flour until the mixture forms coarse crumbs. Stir oats and the remaining sugar through the crumbs.
Scatter the topping loosely over the apples without pressing it flat.
Bake for 40–45 minutes until the topping is golden and fruit bubbles at the edges. Push a small knife through a gap in the topping to check the apple is soft.
Let the crumble settle for ten minutes. Spoon into bowls and pour cream over each serving.
And finally, apple crumble.
